The Side Adventure

Part 5: The Road

This is almost the same as doing it in person but there are going to be some differences because of the format. If you want to talk in character make sure you put anything you are going to say in italics. That way we can separate anything spoken from the things that are thought. Feel free to use your characters thoughts and feelings in your posts, the more you can flesh out what is going on for you the better this will go.

If you want to ask me something outside of the game start it with OOC: Out Of Character, again this will help break things up so we know what is being said and in which way. Once we get to combat I’ll give you a breakdown of how that is going to go also.

Obsidian Portal has a built in dice rolling mechanic, click on that and a windows should pop up. There are two ways to sue this, you can either click on the type of die you want rolled (d20, d10) and it will automagically roll it for you, or you can type in what your sheet says (1d20+4) and click Go! and it will roll and add the modifier for you. Once you roll you can either copy and paste the roll in or take a little screen shot and throw that in, it’s up to you

Now your adventure begins!

Comments

Traveling down the King’s road towards Winterhaven, the wind in your face cool and comfortable, the road beneath your feet is level. An occasional ancient cobblestone peeks through the dirt road, indicating decades of neglect, but this might turn out to be an easy journey after all. You notice footprints leading up and down the road, many of which were made by small, clawed feet. Continuing on you notice that your road is converging with another, bringing you face to face with another person leaving you no longer alone on your journey.

Now your adventure begins!
Part 5: The Road

Good day my fellow Traveler. Is not the open paved road truly one of mans gift to those who travel on them.an
OOC Makes a perception check on the person in front of me to see if I can learn anything about whoever is in front of me.

Roll: 1D20+10
20 = 10[d20]+10

Part 5: The Road

_A fine day, and a fine road. The sun in the sky, but evil may be a foot. Be wary good sir, for Kobold are not to be taken lightly. _

Hookworm looks at and speaks to this fellow kindly, but watches his movements for any sign of treachary…

Part 5: The Road

Nosnevs: You are looking for an Insight check not a perception check, and before you floats a small pixie, but you aren’t able to tell anything about him other than that.

Durelemmire: You need to roll an Insight check as well to be able to see if you notice any signs of treachery. Also, don’t forget to de-level your guy down to 1.

You guys can go back and forth talking until you are done, I will only step in if you need a check or once you finish talking.

Part 5: The Road

Indeed….Kobalds you say? Last one I saw was beaten to a pulp, branded, and left for dead by orcs. Follow creatures the lot of them. I am off to a city north of here and will be weary of their presence. I thank you for the heads up …I never did catch you name.

Part 5: The Road

(rolls a 4) + 0 for insight

My name is Hookworm, and I am headed to Winterhaven? if that by chance your north bound as well? If so, would you like some company?

Part 5: The Road

Durelemmire: You notice nothing treacherous about this man you just met, if anything he seems to be extremely righteous.

Nosnevs, you’re up.

Part 5: The Road

well meet hookworm. Indeed that town is to the north of us. I have no say in who goes where… Bu between you and me the cobble stone does not carry a conversation like a fellow traveler.

You may call me O’shava. What brings you to this place ?

oOC we make our way tithe city talking

Part 5: The Road

I’ve come this way in search of odd jobs. Been told there is a bounty in Winterhaven on these Kobolds.

Part 5: The Road

ohhhh kobolds. Their is no love of those beasts from civilized humans…or in your case small woodland creatures? I have encountered many small creatures in my travels… But you my friend might be te smallest. To small for a hobbit, what are you?

Also how did you hear of these kobold attacks?

Part 5: The Road

_I’m not surprised you haven’t seen my kind before. For that matter, other than myself, neither have I. My, um, Keeper told me I am a Fey or Fairy.

It is the nature of my business to know things._

Smirks a little with the last comment.

Part 5: The Road

OK, I need you both to tell me what your passive perception is and then I need you both to roll for initiative.

Now your adventure begins!
Part 5: The Road

Then I need you to roll for initiative also, d20 + whatever your initiative bonus is.

Part 5: The Road

d20 =10 +9 =19 for initiative

Part 5: The Road

Just waiting on the numbers from Matt, then I am going to switch back over the the forum style Matt and I were using before. Doing this with comments like this just isn’t quite as fluid as it was in the other section.
